Japanese programme
As one of the few schools in the Czech Republic to do so, we offer the exclusive opportunity to study Japanese culture and Japanese as a second foreign language at secondary school. No previous knowledge of Japanese is required. The programme includes cultural and educational workshops and social activities with a Japanese theme, both as school events and extracurricular activities.
Japanese conversation is taught by native speaker Koichiro Kanasugi, and grammar by Tomáš Jurkovič (opens in a new tab). Over 4 years, students take approximately 550 Japanese lessons, after which they reach around JLPT N4 (opens in a new tab) level. Trip to Japan
Once during their studies, students have the opportunity to take a school trip to Japan lasting several weeks, during which they visit a partner school, stay with host families and experience the land of the rising sun first-hand.
Japanese calligraphy
Students can join a Japanese calligraphy club - the traditional art of writing characters with a brush. Examples of students’ work:
