Social responsibility and ethics
We educate future leaders for whom ethics and open communication are second nature. Charitable work is part of the school’s prevention programme - volunteers and coordinators from each class organise the individual activities. Our aim is for an ACGA graduate to be not only an educated specialist with language skills, but also a responsible person with critical thinking and social intelligence.
Visits to care homes for older people
“Intergenerational communication is not taboo.” Students in years 1 to 3 regularly visit care homes for older people - we work with twelve homes across Prague and made 35 visits in the past year alone. Students introduce the residents to the lives of today’s young generation, play knowledge games, give travel presentations and add music to the time spent together. Each class has its own coordinator; fourth-year students attend the first meeting to support their younger classmates.
Class charity activity
Each class also chooses one shared charity activity - for example, Krabice od bot (opens in a new tab) (a Christmas collection for disadvantaged children), a charity run, walking dogs and helping at an animal shelter, or sponsoring a child abroad.
UNICEF - “Help and live”
We help starving children suffering from malnutrition - we contribute to therapeutic nutrition and make dolls for UNICEF (opens in a new tab), the sale of which funds vaccinations. Every day, 15,000 children die of malnutrition; therapeutic nutrition provided in time can save their lives.
ADRA & BanglaKids - “Small deeds help a great cause”
Since 2009, the grammar school has contributed financially to the BanglaKids project (ADRA) - supporting the education of individual disadvantaged Bangladeshi children in the “Child at a boarding school” category. The contribution pays for tuition, a uniform, learning materials and one main meal a day. Find out more at banglakids.cz (opens in a new tab).
