In Psychology & Cognitive Science you gain a general understanding of psychology as a subject and command its basic vocabulary. You become familiar with the difference between the science of Psychology and Applied Psychology, and distinguish among the major theoretical perspectives (Cognitive, Psychoanalytic, Biological, Humanistic, Behavioral, etc.).
You learn how psychological theories describe, predict and modify behavior. Senior year focuses on applying psychology to other fields and understanding the function and importance of psychological research. There is a large focus on in-class discussion and questions.
Junior Psychology: History of the field, Foundations (Psychoanalysis, Behaviorism, Humanism), Biology, Understanding Abnormal Disorders.
Senior Psychology: Research Methods, Social Psychology and Famous Experiments, Cognitive Psychology and Behavior, Forensic Psychology.
